Genoa-Casella railway: discover the hinterland with your family

The Genoa-Casella railway connects the Genoa Manin station to the Casella train station located in in the high Scrivia valley. The railway, about 25 km long, is the appropriate choice for an out-door trip with the whole family. The train crosses three Genoese valleys and follows a panoramic route of about an hour: fortresses, villages, forests, valleys. The landscape is various and spectacular. The path passes through different stations, where you can stop to check the information panels of each village, or choose one of the many proposed hikes.

Portofino Park: trekking around Portofino, Camogli and San Fruttuoso

Around 30 km from Hotel Metropoli there are some of the most spectacular localities of the region, inside the Portofino Park. The Park, besides preserving the flora and fauna of the area, keeps clean more than 80 km of trails that connect the town of Portofino, Santa Margherita Ligure, San Fruttuoso, Camogli and many more.

If you love hiking or you simply want to make an historic and cultural walk, choose one of the many paths proposed. Among them you will find different options suitable for both experts and families.

Durazzo-Pallavicini Villa: historical residence and garden

Durazzo-Pallavicini Villa is a magnificent residence in the Pegli district, around 25 minutes by car from the hotel, built inside one of the main historical gardens in Europe. The itinerary of the visit, around 3 km, is organized into three sections, each of them composed by four scenes characterized by lakes, rivers, falls, garden buildings, furnishings, rare plants, visual glimpses and "scenography deceptions", following the projects of Michele Canzio, scenographer of the Carlo felice Theater.
